BABOR Expands Range with Line of Products for Feet Using Ancient Aboriginal Wisdom
Palm Beach, FL – June 12th, 2007 – Long touted as a biological masterpiece, the human foot is functionally designed to do its job well and without complaint. That is why our feet are among the most important parts of our body. In the course of our life, they carry us over a distance equivalent to more than three times the circumference of the world. While feet are our central transport system—they also have an important load-bearing function with our entire body weight resting upon them. An average day of walking, for example, brings a force equal to several hundred tons to bear on feet.
Your feet also mirror your general health and foot well-being and healthy feet are fundamental to the overall health of the human body. Conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, nerve and circulatory disorders can show their initial symptoms in the feet—so foot ailments can be your first sign of more serious medical problems.
Everyday our feet are squeezed into stockings and shoes, which often don’t fit properly, and have to work hard all day—whether we are standing or walking. While foot massage offers immediate relief and deep relaxation, intensive care is the best option and an excellent indicator of your physical condition―reason enough for BABOR to focus more attention on feet. For the first time, BABOR is concentrating on the feet as a key to renewed well-being and has created an entire range of products just for feet, called FEETNESS.
Essential oils, derived from the blue cypress and eucalyptus trees both native to Australia—are the main active ingredient in BABOR’s new line of products and foot care promotion.
The ancient healing methods of Australia’s original inhabitants
Inspired by the traditional healing secrets of the Aborigines, the first human inhabitants of the Australian continent and its nearby islands, BABOR has taken selected active ingredients from Australia and incorporated them into their new products under the motto “Fitness for your feet”. The focus is on essential oils: blue cypress oil and eucalyptus oil. These oils have widespread effects: they stimulate skin regeneration and vascular circulation, promote relaxation and prevent inflammations. Another pleasant effect is attributed to aloe vera gel, which refreshes, cools and soothes the feet and provides conditioning moisture.
BABOR FEETNESS: Fitness for your feet
Recommended use for the FEETNESS repertoire, which consists of four products, is twice weekly:
REFRESHING BATH (200ml) forms the basis for an invigorating and vitalizing foot bath to pamper and condition stressed feet. Blue cypress oil and aloe vera promote skin regeneration and increase the skin’s moisture content. Overall, the formula is designed to reduce problems that specifically affect the feet or prevent them from occurring in the first place including sweaty feet and the associated odor. It also inhibits the spread of bacteria, which can lead to fungal infections of the skin. The foot bath has a pleasant, fresh eucalyptus fragrance and is considered an aromatic experience – not only for the feet.
HAND & FEET SUGAR PEELING (200ml) the only product in the line that is recommended for both the feet and the hands. The oil-based exfoliant has a gentle but intensive action, thanks to the sugar crystals, which exfoliate thoroughly but are not hard on the skin. Loose superficial skin cells are removed along with excessive cuticle and very hard skin is softened. Jojoba oil supplies the skin with lipids, and its barrier function is maintained. Blue cypress oil and aloe vera promote skin regeneration and increase the skin’s moisture content. With regular use, HAND & FEET SUGAR PEELING leaves the skin silky-smooth and supple. If hard skin is not allowed to develop in the first place and the skin remains able to absorb active ingredients, the natural oils can best develop their natural conditioning effect.
CALLUS REMOVER FLUID which comes packaged in a 6 treatment sleeve is the special preeminent product in the FEETNESS line. The fluid in each ampoule develops its concentrated effect exactly where hard skin occurs, particularly on the heels. Salicylic acid softens the skin and removes even the most stubborn calluses – especially if the ampoules are used as an intensive, 6-day course of treatments. The key active ingredients—blue cypress oil and eucalyptus oil—also develop their conditioning effect (skin regeneration and moisture), while the formula, which is based on sweat-inhibiting, deodorizing and anti-bacterial proprietary active ingredients, prevents typical foot problems.
VITALIZING CREAM & MASK (200ml) is a combination of treatment cream and mask for the feet. The product owes its therapeutic effect to two components. Salicylic acid softens rough areas of skin, gently sloughs off the skin and prevents stubborn hard skin from building up, for example on the heels. In a second step, natural sesame oil promotes supple skin and strengthens its natural barrier function. Vitamin E also protects the skin against free radicals. The key active ingredients―blue cypress oil and eucalyptus oil—also support the highly intensive conditioning effect.
The suggested retail price for BABOR’s new line of foot products is Refreshing Bath 200ml, $22.00; Hand and feet sugar peeling 200ml, $28.00; Callous remover fluid 6-ampoule sleeve, $24.00; and Vitalizing cream and mask 200ml, $32.00. The products will be available in specialty stores offering skin care services, luxury spas, leading day spas, at the BABOR Institut and at babor.com in June of 2007.
